The Open Future Endowment has a $2 million goal, which benefits children in Georgia and around the world.
The Fund is managed by the Community Foundation of South Georgia, one of the largest community foundations in the state. It was established in 2014 by An Open Door Adoption Agency, whose Board of Directors oversees the impact of the Fund's earnings. Since 1987, An Open Door has found forever homes for more than 2,100 children. Of these, 1,400 were Georgia children and 700 were foreign orphans. The Agency operates in Georgia and in eight other countries. A non-profit 501(c)3, An Open Door is a private agency.
The Fund was envisioned in 2014 as a way for donors to make an impact for orphans, by lowering the cost of adoptions, assisting birth mothers, opening programs in new countries, and sponsoring the adoptions of Georgia's hardest to place children.
